In 2022, the average carbon disulphide import price amounted to $2,441 per ton, picking up by 2.7% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a sharp setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average import price increased by 32% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $70,696 per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

In 2022, purchases abroad of carbon disulphides decreased by -35.8% to 102 kg for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, posted prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 43%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 159 kg, and then shrank dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, carbon disulphide imports fell markedly to $249 in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a sharp descent. The smallest decline of -18.7% was in 2021.
