The average carbon disulphide import price stood at $5,725 per ton in 2022, growing by 7.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a slight contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 40%. The import price peaked at $6,555 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for India.
From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Germany amounted to -0.0% per year.
Carbon Disulphide Imports in Sri Lanka
After three years of growth, overseas purchases of carbon disulphides decreased by -96.3% to 3 kg in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a sharp shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 206% against the previous year.
In value terms, carbon disulphide imports reduced remarkably to $17 in 2022. In general, imports saw a precipitous shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 260%.
