The average carrot and turnip import price stood at $938 per ton in August 2023, declining by -6.1% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.5%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2023 an increase of 48% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $999 per ton, and then fell in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Croatia ($24,398 per ton), while the price for Poland ($362 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (+36.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
