The average cereals; millet import price stood at $214 per ton in 2022, which is down by -2.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a noticeable setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 a decrease of -2.9% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $289 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for India.

From 2012 to 2022, the rate of growth in terms of prices for India amounted to -3.0% per year.

Cereals; Millet Imports in Oman

For the fourth consecutive year, Oman recorded growth in supplies from abroad of cereals; millets, which increased by 0.7% to 857 tons in 2022. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, cereals; millet imports reduced to $184K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a pronounced curtailment. The smallest decline of -2.3% was in 2021.
