In 2022, the average cereals; millet, seed import price amounted to $3,270 per ton, reducing by -13.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a modest increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average import price increased by 109%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $3,813 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Brazil ($3,525 per ton), while the price for India ($1,712 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+7.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

As a result, imports reached the peak of 382 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, cereals; millet, seed imports reduced to $890K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 139%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $1.4M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
