Cereals; Oats, Seeds Price in the Netherlands (CIF) - 2022

The average cereals; oats, seeds import price stood at $523 per ton in 2022, growing by 5.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, saw a deep contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 44%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $1,452 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($819 per ton), while the price for Poland ($129 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In May 2023, the average cereals; oats, seeds export price amounted to $528 per ton, declining by -6.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, enjoyed notable growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 507% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $2,130 per ton. From January 2023 to May 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($1,350 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($342 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, imports of cereals; oats, seedses into the Netherlands fell to 3.5K tons, waning by -13.5% on the previous year. Overall, imports, however, showed a prominent increase.
