Champagne Price in Austria (CIF) - 2023
The average champagne import price stood at $37.9 per litre in July 2023, reducing by -6.3% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 an increase of 46% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $44.5 per litre in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($40.5 per litre), while the price for Germany amounted to $29.8 per litre.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+0.6%).
Champagne Price in Austria (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average champagne export price amounted to $54.6 per litre, with an increase of 16% against the previous month. Overall, the export price enjoyed a slight increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 an increase of 226% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $95.5 per litre in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to July 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($220 per litre), while the average price for exports to Germany ($46.4 per litre) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Champagne Imports in Austria
In 2022, champagne imports into Austria amounted to 1.6M litres, growing by 14% compared with 2021.
