In July 2023, the average cheese and curd export price amounted to $5,807 per ton, shrinking by -12.1% against the previous month. Over the period from July 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in May 2023 an increase of 20% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $6,604 per ton in June 2023, and then reduced in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Nepal ($23,146 per ton), while the average price for exports to Mauritius ($4,223 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Nepal (+13.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average cheese and curd import price stood at $6,770 per ton in July 2023, with a decrease of -6.1% against the previous month. Over the period from July 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.2%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in June 2023 when the average import price increased by 34% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $7,855 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to July 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Italy ($7,797 per ton), while the price for Denmark ($3,811 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Estonia (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
