The average cheese and curd export price stood at $4,547 per ton in September 2023, falling by -2.7% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in October 2022 an increase of 3.2% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $5,164 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to September 2023, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In September 2023, the countries with the highest prices were South Korea ($5,095 per ton) and Japan ($4,709 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($4,102 per ton) and Australia ($4,144 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United Arab Emirates (+1.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average cheese and curd import price stood at $5,541 per ton in September 2023, dropping by -3.2% against the previous month. In general, the import price saw a slight contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in February 2023 when the average import price increased by 8.5% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $7,458 per ton. From March 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was France ($16,025 per ton), while the price for Sweden ($3,574 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+4.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
