Cheese and Curd Price in Vietnam (CIF) - 2021
In December 2021, the average cheese and curd import price amounted to $5,436 per ton, approximately mirroring the previous month. In general, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in August 2021 an increase of 2.5% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $5,507 per ton. From September 2021 to December 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2021, the highest price was recorded for prices from Argentina ($5,878 per ton) and Poland ($5,878 per ton), while the price for the United States ($4,819 per ton) and New Zealand ($5,125 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cheese and Curd Price in Vietnam (FOB) - 2021
In December 2021, the average cheese and curd export price amounted to $5,010 per ton, standing approximately at the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2021 an increase of 7% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $5,062 per ton in May 2021; however, from June 2021 to December 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major external markets. In December 2021, the countries with the highest prices were Japan ($6,367 per ton) and Cambodia ($5,336 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($4,494 per ton) and India ($4,494 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From December 2020 to December 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Cambodia (+1.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cheese and Curd Imports in Vietnam
In 2022, the amount of cheese and curd imported into Vietnam rose modestly to 10K tons, increasing by 2.9% against the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.5% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 24% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 10K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, cheese and curd imports fell to $53M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +8.6% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 28% against the previous year.

Cheese and Curd Exports in Vietnam
In 2022, shipments abroad of cheese and curd was finally on the rise to reach 802 tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. In general, exports, however, showed a abrupt setback.
In value terms, cheese and curd exports rose remarkably to $3.7M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a deep slump.
