Cheese Price in Iran (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average cheese export price amounted to $2,301 per ton, rising by 6.9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a perceptible decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the average export price increased by 9.5% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $3,683 per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iraq ($2,483 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($1,357 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kazakhstan (+17.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cheese Price in Iran (CIF) - 2022
The average cheese import price stood at $4,638 per ton in 2022, increasing by 6.2% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a modest increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, cheese import price decreased by -2.7% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average import price increased by 39% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $4,769 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($5,342 per ton), while the price for Italy ($3,514 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Cheese Exports in Iran
In 2022, approx. 8.4K tons of cheese were exported from Iran; falling by -13.9% on 2021 figures. Over the period under review, exports recorded a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 37%.
In value terms, cheese exports contracted to $19M in 2022. In general, exports saw a abrupt downturn. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 19% against the previous year.
