Cherry Price in Iran (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average cherry export price amounted to $1,285 per ton, leveling off at the previous year. In general, the export price saw a noticeable slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 11%. The export price peaked at $1,632 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($1,618 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($461 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Azerbaijan (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Cherry Exports in Iran
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of cherries, when their volume decreased by -7.6% to 313 tons. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 21% against the previous year.
In value terms, cherry exports contracted to $402K in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +8.8% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 18% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $436K, and then declined in the following year.
