In 2022, the average cherry import price amounted to $5,257 per ton, with an increase of 22% against the previous year. In general, the import price recorded prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 an increase of 50%. The import price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Turkey ($5,258 per ton) and Lebanon ($5,257 per ton), while the price for Syrian Arab Republic ($5,257 per ton) and Greece ($5,257 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Syrian Arab Republic (+12.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cherry Price in Jordan (FOB) - 2022

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Syrian Arab Republic (+18.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cherry Imports in Jordan
In 2022, overseas purchases of cherries decreased by -28.8% to 570 tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 96% against the previous year.
