In March 2023, the average chicken meat import price amounted to $1,490 per ton, picking up by 3.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in July 2022 when the average import price increased by 21% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,332 per ton. From August 2022 to March 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($1,610 per ton), while the price for Brazil totaled $1,403 per ton.

The average chicken meat export price stood at $572 per ton in 2022, falling by -6.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a pronounced curtailment. In 2022, overseas shipments of chicken meat decreased by -24% to 3.6K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 74% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 4.8K tons, and then contracted dramatically in the following year.
