The average chlorides; of nickel import price stood at $7,708 per ton in 2022, surging by 29% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a measured increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 44%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($11,869 per ton), while the price for Germany ($3,779 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+26.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Chlorides; of Nickel Imports in Iran
After three years of growth, supplies from abroad of chlorides; of nickels decreased by -4.1% to 63 tons in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +17.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +61.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 45% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 65 tons, and then contracted modestly in the following year.
In value terms, chlorides; of nickel imports soared to $482K in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 109% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.
