Chocolate and Confectionery Price in Algeria (CIF) - 2022
The average chocolate and confectionery import price stood at $3,315 per ton in 2022, stabilizing at the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 an increase of 17%. The import price peaked at $3,725 per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($4,549 per ton), while the price for Tunisia ($2,452 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+8.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Chocolate and Confectionery Price in Algeria (FOB) - 2022
The average chocolate and confectionery export price stood at $3,944 per ton in 2022, approximately equating the previous year. Overall, export price indicated slight growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +1.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, chocolate and confectionery export price decreased by -21.7% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average export price increased by 39%. The export price peaked at $5,859 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($6,820 per ton), while the average price for exports to Senegal ($415 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+7.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Chocolate and Confectionery Imports in Algeria
