The average clay import price stood at $291 per ton in 2022, surging by 1.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 11%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $308 per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($795 per ton), while the price for Serbia ($137 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+9.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average clay export price amounted to $186 per ton, with an increase of 175% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw measured growth. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Nigeria ($386 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($69 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Nigeria (+6.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Clay Imports in Greece
