Clementines Price in the UK (CIF) - 2023

The average clementines import price stood at $1,167 per ton in June 2023, dropping by -2.1% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in September 2022 when the average import price increased by 35% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $2,034 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to June 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Spain ($1,714 per ton), while the price for Morocco ($942 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average clementines export price stood at $2,032 per ton in 2022, increasing by 92% against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a prominent expansion from 2017 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +9.9% over the last five years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $2,077 per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($7,864 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Africa ($1,589 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2017 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+40.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
