Cocoa Bean Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
The average cocoa bean import price stood at $3,599 per ton in July 2023, which is down by -10.3% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +3.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 an increase of 30% month-to-month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,013 per ton, and then shrank in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($5,081 per ton), while the price for Ecuador ($2,864 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+3.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cocoa Bean Price in Poland (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average cocoa bean export price amounted to $5,655 per ton, jumping by 28% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a mild decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when the average export price increased by 130%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $6,827 per ton. From 2017 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($16,137 per ton), while the average price for exports to France ($2,342 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Netherlands (+23.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cocoa Bean Imports in Poland
In 2022, overseas purchases of cocoa beans decreased by -19.6% to 12K tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In general, imports showed a pronounced setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 13%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 15K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, cocoa bean imports fell markedly to $33M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports recorded a pronounced slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 16% against the previous year.

Cocoa Bean Exports in Poland
In 2022, exports of cocoa beans from Poland fell sharply to 84 tons, waning by -37.1% compared with the year before. Over the period under review, exports recorded a abrupt downturn.
