The average cocoa butter export price stood at $5,285 per ton in March 2023, growing by 16% against the previous month. In general, the export price posted a slight increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2022 an increase of 155% month-to-month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $18,595 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to March 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($20,000 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($4,637 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2022 to March 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+13.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
