Coconut Oil Price in Ecuador (CIF) - 2022
In January 2022, the average coconut oil import price amounted to $5,646 per ton, shrinking by -71.8% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a perceptible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2021 when the average import price increased by 456% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $23,941 per ton. From July 2021 to January 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Spain ($13,488 per ton), while the price for India ($3,778 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average coconut oil export price amounted to $5,256 per ton, surging by 15% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 97%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $7,615 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, imports of coconut (copra) oil into Ecuador surged to 594 tons, increasing by 17% on the previous year. Overall, imports recorded a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 771% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of 687 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
