The average coconut oil import price stood at $5,060 per ton in 2022, with an increase of 1.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 85%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $5,077 per ton in 2016; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the Philippines ($6,363 per ton), while the price for Germany ($3,434 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Philippines (+23.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
