Coconut Oil Price in Russia (CIF) - 2022
In January 2022, the average coconut oil import price amounted to $1,913 per ton, reducing by -11.5% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2021 to January 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.7%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in December 2021 an increase of 13% month-to-month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,161 per ton, and then dropped in the following month.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($1,870 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($1,855 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Coconut Oil Price in Russia (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average coconut oil export price amounted to $1,793 per ton, reducing by -9.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 43%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $2,273 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($2,494 per ton), while the average price for exports to Uzbekistan ($429 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Kazakhstan (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Coconut Oil Imports in Russia
In 2022, purchases abroad of coconut (copra) oil decreased by -10.1% to 33K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 26%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 36K tons, and then reduced in the following year.
In value terms, coconut oil imports reduced notably to $50M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a resilient expansion. In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of coconut (copra) oil, when their volume decreased by -27.7% to 3.3K tons. Overall, exports, however, showed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 127% against the previous year. In value terms, coconut oil exports shrank remarkably to $6M in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a significant increase.
