Coffee Extract Price in the Czech Republic (FOB) - 2023
The average coffee extract export price stood at $8,234 per ton in July 2023, leveling off at the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 an increase of 35% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $8,461 per ton. From February 2023 to July 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Sweden ($14,084 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($3,669 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkey (+8.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Coffee Extract Price in the Czech Republic (CIF) - 2022
The average coffee extract import price stood at $8,431 per ton in 2022, growing by 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a mild downturn. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $9,500 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($17,833 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($2,406 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+4.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Coffee Extract Exports in the Czech Republic
In 2022, shipments abroad of coffee extracts, essences and concentrates decreased by -4.5% to 23K tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 8.8%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 24K tons, and then contracted modestly in the following year.
In value terms, coffee extract exports contracted slightly to $173M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +8.4% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 16% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $174M, leveling off in the following year.

Coffee Extract Imports in the Czech Republic

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 19%.
In value terms, coffee extract imports expanded markedly to $146M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
