Coffee Extract Price in the Dominican Republic (CIF) - 2023
The average coffee extract import price stood at $5,024 per ton in March 2023, reducing by -18.8% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 an increase of 42% month-to-month. The import price peaked at $12,184 per ton in March 2022; however, from April 2022 to March 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Spain ($17,513 per ton), while the price for the United States ($3,294 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2022 to March 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+6.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Coffee Extract Price in the Dominican Republic (FOB) - 2022
The average coffee extract export price stood at $6,614 per ton in 2022, surging by 5.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price continues to indicate mild growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 37%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $8,687 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($9,188 per ton), while the average price for exports to Chile ($3,495 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turks and Caicos Islands (+16.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Coffee Extract Imports in the Dominican Republic
In 2022, the amount of coffee extracts, essences and concentrates imported into the Dominican Republic shrank rapidly to 337 tons, reducing by -29.3% compared with 2021. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 117%.
