Common Clay Price in Jordan (CIF) - 2022
The average common clay import price stood at $519 per ton in 2022, picking up by 15% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when the average import price increased by 28%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $769 per ton. From 2019 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from the United States ($519 per ton) and Spain ($519 per ton), while the price for India ($518 per ton) and Turkey ($519 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Turkey (+16.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Common Clay Price in Jordan (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average common clay export price amounted to $836 per ton, with an increase of 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 267% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $8,902 per ton. From 2021 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($7,900 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($933 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+7.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Common Clay Imports in Jordan
In 2022, purchases abroad of common clay decreased by -78.2% to 228 tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 722%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 1.6K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, common clay imports contracted markedly to $118K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 508% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $620K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
