Common Clay Price in Vietnam (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average common clay import price amounted to $245 per ton, growing by 7.7% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a abrupt decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 13% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $475 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Taiwan (Chinese) ($451 per ton), while the price for Portugal ($138 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+7.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Common Clay Price in Vietnam (FOB) - 2022
The average common clay export price stood at $214 per ton in 2022, surging by 5.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a abrupt shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 37% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $979 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($1,190 per ton), while the average price for exports to Lao People's Democratic Republic ($82 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Pakistan (+7.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Common Clay Imports in Vietnam
In 2022, approx. 35K tons of common clay were imported into Vietnam; surging by 11% on the year before. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.4% from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 32% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 35K tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, common clay imports surged to $8.6M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +2.1% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 24%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $10M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
