The average copper; master alloys import price stood at $3,101 per ton in September 2023, rising by 13% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a deep reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in June 2023 an increase of 580% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $23,436 per ton. From July 2023 to September 2023, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($24,437 per ton), while the price for the UK ($5,460 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average copper; master alloys export price amounted to $19,438 per ton, almost unchanged from the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 41%. The export price peaked at $19,664 per ton in 2021, and then shrank slightly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was South Korea ($126,694 per ton), while the average price for exports to Australia ($13,540 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Taiwan (Chinese) (+22.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

After three years of growth, overseas purchases of copper; master alloyses decreased by -38.4% to 3K tons in 2022. In general, imports, however, recorded a significant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 331%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 4.9K tons, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.
In value terms, copper; master alloys imports plummeted to $31M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 185%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $46M, and then shrank sharply in the following year.
