In July 2023, the average copper; master alloys import price amounted to $9,977 per ton, which is down by -9.4% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a mild shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in February 2023 an increase of 49% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $17,978 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to July 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($11,112 per ton), while the price for South Korea stood at $9,371 per ton.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The average copper; master alloys export price stood at $9,157 per ton in July 2023, surging by 9.2% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2023 an increase of 12% m-o-m. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $10,310 per ton. From March 2023 to July 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major foreign markets. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($10,620 per ton), while the average price for exports to Malaysia ($8,949 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+7.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Copper; Master Alloys Imports in Japan
In 2022, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in supplies from abroad of copper; master alloyses, when their volume increased by 16% to 666 tons. Overall, imports, however, recorded a deep setback.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +65.9% against 2020 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
