The average copper; master alloys import price stood at $20,993 per ton in July 2023, with an increase of 12% against the previous month. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a slight increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 61% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $26,481 per ton in January 2023; however, from February 2023 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($81,092 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($9,890 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+15.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
