Copper Wire Price in Germany (FOB) - 2023

The average copper wire export price stood at $9,813 per ton in August 2023, with an increase of 3.8% against the previous month. Over the period from August 2022 to August 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.0%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 5.9% against the previous month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $10,110 per ton. From May 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In August 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to Switzerland ($10,586 per ton) and the Czech Republic ($10,127 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($8,262 per ton) and Poland ($8,959 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Serbia (+2.0%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average copper wire import price stood at $9,709 per ton in August 2023, picking up by 3.6% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 11% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $10,110 per ton in May 2023; however, from June 2023 to August 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Austria ($17,597 per ton), while the price for Hungary ($8,448 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Austria (+2.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
