In September 2023, the average copper wire import price amounted to $9,335 per ton, dropping by -1.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 6.6% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $10,190 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to September 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices from Germany ($10,083 per ton) and Turkey ($9,708 per ton), while the price for Poland ($8,594 per ton) and Belgium ($8,851 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average copper wire export price stood at $16,981 per ton in 2022, dropping by -9.5% against the previous year. Overall, the export price recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 26%. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $22,244 per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
