Cosmetics Price in France (FOB) - 2022

The average cosmetics export price stood at $32,769 per ton in 2022, growing by 4.6% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.4%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 10%. The export price peaked in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($46,415 per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($15,417 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+4.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Cosmetics Price in France (CIF) - 2022

The average cosmetics import price stood at $15,892 per ton in 2022, shrinking by -15.1% against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.2%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when the average import price increased by 14% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $18,728 per ton in 2021, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($50,599 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($6,342 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Israel (+19.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the amount of cosmetics exported from France dropped to 325K tons, waning by -5.3% against 2021. Over the period under review, exports recorded a perceptible reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 8.5% against the previous year.
