Cotton Lint Price in Russia (CIF) - 2022
The average cotton lint import price stood at $2,702 per ton in January 2022, with an increase of 4% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2021 to January 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +4.0%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2021 an increase of 10% month-to-month. The import price peaked in January 2022.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was Tajikistan ($2,724 per ton), while the price for Kazakhstan totaled $2,685 per ton.
From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+4.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cotton Lint Price in Russia (FOB) - 2022
The average cotton lint export price stood at $2,119 per ton in 2022, almost unchanged from the previous year. Overall, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 an increase of 53% against the previous year. In 2022, the amount of cotton lint imported into Russia contracted remarkably to 18K tons, with a decrease of -29.6% against the previous year's figure. In general, imports saw a drastic downturn.
