Cream Fresh Price in Belgium (FOB) - 2023
In July 2023, the average cream fresh export price amounted to $2,809 per ton, remaining stable against the previous month. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 12% m-o-m. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $3,494 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to July 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In July 2023, the highest price was recorded for prices to South Korea ($3,673 per ton) and China ($3,426 per ton), while the average price for exports to Germany ($2,576 per ton) and the Netherlands ($2,678 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+1.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Cream Fresh Price in Belgium (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average cream fresh import price amounted to $3,032 per ton, rising by 11% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2022 an increase of 13% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $3,228 per ton in October 2022; however, from November 2022 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($5,032 per ton), while the price for Italy ($2,791 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Cream Fresh Exports in Belgium
In 2022, cream fresh exports from Belgium reached 170K tons, surging by 1.7% on 2021. In general, exports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 7.1%.
In value terms, cream fresh exports soared to $512M in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated resilient growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +10.1% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +54.4% against 2020 indices. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
