Crispbread Price in Ghana (CIF) - 2022
The average crispbread import price stood at $1,922 per ton in 2022, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price recorded a slight descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 49%. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $2,831 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($3,078 per ton), while the price for the United States ($479 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+23.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Crispbread Price in Ghana (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average crispbread export price amounted to $4,750 per ton, dropping by -38.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 153% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $7,675 per ton in 2021, and then dropped sharply in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Denmark ($8,000 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United States ($2,500 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Germany (+11.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.
Crispbread Imports in Ghana
In 2022, supplies from abroad of crispbread decreased by -32% to 116 tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, imports showed a abrupt contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 83% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 378 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, crispbread imports dropped rapidly to $222K in 2022. Over the period under review, imports faced a sharp downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 11%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $650K. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
