Crispbread Price in the Dominican Republic (CIF) - 2023
The average crispbread import price stood at $3,019 per ton in March 2023, waning by -17% against the previous month. In general, the import price showed a mild descent. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 38% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $5,656 per ton. From December 2022 to March 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In March 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($4,168 per ton), while the price for Spain ($2,693 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From March 2022 to March 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+3.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Crispbread Price in the Dominican Republic (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average crispbread export price amounted to $2,895 per ton, dropping by -47% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, enjoyed a prominent expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 120%. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $5,461 per ton, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turks and Caicos Islands (+6.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Crispbread Imports in the Dominican Republic
In 2022, purchases abroad of crispbread decreased by -8.3% to 617 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.5% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 20%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 687 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, crispbread imports skyrocketed to $2.2M in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +7.2% from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
