In May 2023, the average dairy spread export price amounted to $7,208 per ton, growing by 6.3% against the previous month. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 23% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $8,943 per ton. From December 2022 to May 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Norway ($17,869 per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($5,422 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Norway (+21.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average dairy spread import price amounted to $6,232 per ton, picking up by 70% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a pronounced expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.8% over the last decade.
