Dairy Spread Price in Germany (CIF) - 2023
The average dairy spread import price stood at $5,983 per ton in April 2023, which is down by -49.2% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average import price increased by 122% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $11,783 per ton, and then reduced markedly in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In April 2023, the country with the highest price was Ireland ($6,391 per ton), while the price for Poland ($1,873 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From April 2022 to April 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the Netherlands (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
Dairy Spread Price in Germany (FOB) - 2023
In May 2023, the average dairy spread export price amounted to $8,423 per ton, growing by 2.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a slight decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in July 2022 when the average export price increased by 14% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $9,957 per ton in November 2022; however, from December 2022 to May 2023, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($14,148 per ton), while the average price for exports to Italy ($6,102 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to South Korea (+159.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Dairy Spread Imports in Germany
In 2022, approx. 1.4K tons of dairy spreads were imported into Germany; shrinking by -57.5% on the previous year's figure. In general, imports faced a dramatic decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 59%.
