Dairy Spread Price in Slovakia (CIF) - 2023
In April 2023, the average dairy spread import price amounted to $11,066 per ton, picking up by 16% against the previous month. Overall, the import price saw a perceptible expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 when the average import price increased by 202% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in April 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In April 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($11,075 per ton), while the price for the Czech Republic amounted to $5,030 per ton.
From April 2022 to April 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+4.8%).
Dairy Spread Price in Slovakia (FOB) - 2023
The average dairy spread export price stood at $6,507 per ton in May 2023, with a decrease of -6.9% against the previous month. Over the period from May 2022 to May 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.0%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in April 2023 an increase of 57% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $6,987 per ton, and then contracted in the following month.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($7,614 per ton), while the average price for exports to Romania ($2,373 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From May 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Dairy Spread Imports in Slovakia
For the third year in a row, Slovakia recorded decline in purchases abroad of dairy spreads, which decreased by -13.4% to 1.9K tons in 2022. In general, imports saw a deep contraction. The smallest decline of -1.8% was in 2021.
In value terms, dairy spread imports soared to $12M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 89%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Dairy Spread Exports in Slovakia
For the third consecutive year, Slovakia recorded decline in overseas shipments of dairy spreads, which decreased by -8.4% to 54 tons in 2022. Over the period under review, exports showed a precipitous decline.
In value terms, dairy spread exports fell slightly to $312K in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a dramatic contraction.
