The average date import price stood at $3,306 per ton in June 2023, with an increase of 15% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a mild descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 an increase of 76% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,657 per ton. From December 2022 to June 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was Israel ($10,059 per ton), while the price for the Netherlands ($1,884 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Pakistan (+4.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
