Derivatives of Hydrocarbons Price in the Netherlands (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average derivatives of hydrocarbons import price amounted to $4,199 per ton, shrinking by -25.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 an increase of 145% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $7,048 per ton. From 2020 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($6,111 per ton), while the price for South Korea ($2,056 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by India (+12.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Derivatives of Hydrocarbons Price in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average derivatives of hydrocarbons export price amounted to $10,914 per ton, reducing by -25.9% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, continues to indicate a prominent increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 63% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $14,730 per ton in 2021, and then declined rapidly in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($30,419 per ton), while the average price for exports to India ($3,363 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (+25.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Derivatives of Hydrocarbons Imports in the Netherlands
In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of derivatives of hydrocarbons other than containing only sulpho-, nitro-, or nitroso groups, when their volume decreased by -5.7% to 958 tons. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.9% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 17% against the previous year.
In value terms, derivatives of hydrocarbons imports dropped sharply to $4M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a abrupt setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 13% against the previous year.

In value terms, derivatives of hydrocarbons exports surged to $4.3M in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a noticeable contraction.
