The average dithionites and sulphoxylates export price stood at $2,414 per ton in August 2023, reducing by -14% against the previous month. In general, the export price recorded a pronounced contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 17% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $3,374 per ton. From February 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was China ($4,802 per ton), while the average price for exports to Thailand ($1,179 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+0.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

The average dithionites and sulphoxylates import price stood at $2,601 per ton in August 2023, picking up by 9.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price showed a notable increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in October 2022 when the average import price increased by 152% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $2,848 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to August 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
