The average dithionites and sulphoxylates import price stood at $4,260 per ton in August 2023, growing by 23% against the previous month. Over the last twelve-month period, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 43% against the previous month. The import price peaked at $4,437 per ton in March 2023; however, from April 2023 to August 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
As there is only one major supplying country, the average price level is determined by prices for Germany.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the rate of growth in terms of prices for Belgium amounted to +14.6% per month.
Dithionites and Sulphoxylates Price in Poland (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average dithionites and sulphoxylates export price amounted to $3,533 per ton, increasing by 41% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a prominent expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, dithionites and sulphoxylates export price increased by +72.9% against 2020 indices. As a result, the export price reached the peak level and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hungary ($6,011 per ton), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($1,960 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hungary (+25.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 27% against the previous year.
