Dried Onion Price in Australia (CIF) - 2023
The average dried onion import price stood at $3,116 per ton in May 2023, increasing by 2.3% against the previous month. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in September 2022 when the average import price increased by 19% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $3,782 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to May 2023, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In May 2023, the country with the highest price was the United States ($4,953 per ton), while the price for India ($2,319 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to May 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
