Ferro-Molybdenum Price in China (FOB) - 2023
In June 2023, the average ferro-molybdenum export price amounted to $31,168 per ton, rising by 7.6% against the previous month. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2023 when the average export price increased by 23% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $42,456 per ton. From April 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In June 2023, the country with the highest price was India ($43,571 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($23,276 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Indonesia (+0.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Ferro-Molybdenum Price in China (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average ferro-molybdenum import price amounted to $27,314 per ton, rising by 9.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a slight increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 134%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Thailand ($27,691 per ton), while the price for South Korea amounted to $27,248 per ton.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Korea (+19.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
Ferro-Molybdenum Exports in China
In 2022, ferro-molybdenum exports from China contracted to 16K tons, waning by -13.8% compared with 2021 figures. In general, exports, however, posted a significant increase.
