Fiberboard Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023
The average fiberboard export price stood at $146 per cubic meter in August 2023, waning by -6.4% against the previous month. In general, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 6.5% against the previous month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $158 per cubic meter. From May 2023 to August 2023, the the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($195 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Denmark ($117 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the Czech Republic (+0.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fiberboard Price in Poland (CIF) - 2023
In August 2023, the average fiberboard import price amounted to $123 per cubic meter, shrinking by -16.4% against the previous month. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in October 2022 an increase of 10% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $147 per cubic meter in July 2023, and then shrank rapidly in the following month.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Belgium ($255 per cubic meter), while the price for Brazil ($58.4 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From August 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+2.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fiberboard Exports in Poland
After three years of growth, shipments abroad of fiber board of wood or other ligneous materials decreased by -28.8% to 4.9M cubic meters in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 11% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 6.9M cubic meters, and then declined rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, fiberboard exports declined markedly to $765M in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +6.6% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 33% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $902M, and then dropped remarkably in the following year.

Fiberboard Imports in Poland
In 2022, purchases abroad of fiber board of wood or other ligneous materials decreased by -60.7% to 1.3M cubic meters for the first time since 2018, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, imports continue to indicate a dramatic contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at 3.3M cubic meters in 2021, and then fell sharply in the following year.
In value terms, fiberboard imports declined remarkably to $153M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 32% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $369M, and then shrank remarkably in the following year.
