Fibreboard Price in the Netherlands (CIF) - 2022
The average fibreboard import price stood at $284 per cubic meter in 2022, with an increase of 12% against the previous year. In general, import price indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, fibreboard import price increased by +69.2% against 2014 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($811 per cubic meter), while the price for Luxembourg ($179 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+7.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Fibreboard Price in the Netherlands (FOB) - 2022
The average fibreboard export price stood at $135 per cubic meter in 2022, picking up by 4.3% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a deep slump. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 an increase of 20% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $290 per cubic meter in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($482 per cubic meter), while the average price for exports to Sweden ($36 per cubic meter) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+10.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Fibreboard Imports in the Netherlands
In 2022, fibreboard imports into the Netherlands reduced to 1.5M cubic meters, waning by -10.2% on the previous year's figure. Over the period under review, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 19%.
