In 2022, the average fishing rods export price amounted to $79,892 per ton, with a decrease of -2.5% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, enjoyed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 when the average export price increased by 93% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $81,905 per ton in 2021, and then fell in the following year.

Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Australia ($79,604 per ton) and Japan ($79,604 per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($79,604 per ton) and South Korea ($79,604 per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+15.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average fishing rods import price amounted to $64,260 per ton, leveling off at the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +8.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, fishing rods import price increased by +37.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 an increase of 57%. The import price peaked at $67,423 per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($64,311 per ton), while the price for China totaled $64,311 per ton.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+8.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas shipments of fishing rodses, when their volume decreased by -16.1% to 646 tons. Overall, total exports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +9.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +31.9% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when exports increased by 48% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of 770 tons, and then contracted significantly in the following year.

In value terms, fishing rods exports dropped notably to $52M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a prominent increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +14.9% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +51.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 57% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $63M, and then declined notably in the following year.

In 2022, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in purchases abroad of fishing rodses, when their volume decreased by -11.2% to 55 tons. Overall, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2019 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +13.4% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +45.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 29%. As a result, imports reached the peak of 61 tons, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, fishing rods imports reduced to $3.5M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed significant growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 75% against the previous year.
