The average flakes; of potatoes import price stood at $2,663 per ton in July 2023, which is down by -9.9% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a resilient expansion from July 2022 to July 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +5.2% over the last twelve-month period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on July 2023 figures, flakes; of potatoes import price decreased by -13.0% against April 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in January 2023 an increase of 26% against the previous month. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $3,062 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Germany ($2,913 per ton), while the price for Poland ($1,890 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+6.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
